Dear Friends and Supporters of the INSTAP Study Center,
On this International Day for Monuments and Sites we launched a new campaign to establish an Emergency Site Conservation Fund at the Study Center for East Crete. This support will address immediate site conservation needs for archaeological sites across the island. Like many monuments around the world, archaeological sites on the island of Crete face similar challenges, including coastal erosion, increased wildfires, and exposure to extreme weather events.
Our initial goal is to raise $10,000 that will cover expenses (materials, labor costs, digital documentation, etc.) for site conservation, wall consolidation projects, and site vulnerability assessment studies at select sites in 2024. To date, INSTAP SCEC has raised $2,000. We are grateful to all of our supporters who have contributed so far, especially Al Leonard, Leslie Day, and Susan Ferrence.
Your donation, no matter the size, can have a significant impact on our ability to fulfill our mission. Even if you’re unable to donate, you can still make a difference by spreading awareness.
Share our campaign with your friends, family, and social networks. Every share brings us one step closer to our goal.
