In celebration of the International Day for Monuments and Sites, we invite you to join us in supporting the Al & Mary Leonard Emergency Preservation Fund.

Established last year, this fund provides vital, rapid-response support for the preservation of archaeological sites across Crete. Its purpose is to address urgent needs such as site conservation, the construction or repair of protective fencing, and the installation of bilingual signage to help visitors better understand and appreciate the significance of these important places.

We are pleased to share that the first grant has already been awarded to Maia Pomadère’s project “Malia and the Sea: Research and Preservation of the Milopotamos Area of Malia.” This is an encouraging beginning, and with your help, we can extend this support to many more sites in need.

Your contribution – of any size – will have a meaningful impact in protecting Crete’s cultural heritage for future generations.
