At the end of May, a team of archaeologists from the INSTAP Study Center and the Lasithi Ephorate of Antiquities traveled to Catania, Sicily, to attend ScapeCon 8, a conference on the concept and experience of time in the Bronze Age Aegean https://scapecon8.sciencesconf.org/). The meeting, hosted by the Archaeology Department of the University of Catania, showcased exciting new research by young enthusiastic colleagues (and some not so young), and generated vivid discussions and more than few social events and lots of fun. Catania is a beautiful town and the hosts of the event were wonderful. Here we share some of the non-academic moments of the conference which completed our Catania experience.

Catania by night. Going out and about seems to be a favorite pastime for locals and we shared it.
Catania fish market. Blue fin tunas and sword fish, caught locally, are on sale at this time of the year and one finds them in all restaurants.
In one of the conference breaks members of the organizing team are recharging and having fun.
Pizza!
