Conservation interns at the Study Center in 2017 and 2022.

The William D.E. Coulson Conservation Laboratory at the INSTAP SCEC invites applicants for two summer internships in archaeological conservation. These positions are not paid, but thanks to a generous donation there is a grant of $2,000 for each intern. This is intended to cover part of the cost of housing as well as travel to and from Crete.

Applicants must be currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from, a graduate-level or equivalent conservation program. Ideal applicants will be proficient in written and spoken English.

Internships run 8 weeks and will be undertaken between May 1st and July 31st. Applicants should indicate their preferred time frame in the application. Successful candidates are required to obtain their own medical insurance for the duration of the internship. They are also required to submit a written report at the close of the internship.

To apply: Please send a curriculum vitae, a letter of reference and a cover letter to Elizabeth Shank (elizabethshank@hotmail.com). Applications are due by January 31, 2023.

For inquires contact Kathy Hall, Senior Conservator (kathyh@otenet.gr).
