Conservation technician Matina Tzari cleaning the edges of Minoan pithos sherds.
Nick Ervin visited the Study Center back in April and asked the staff about their work and needs. One of the much-needed items for the William D.E. Coulson conservation lab was a new compact ultrasonic dental cleaning tool, used in cleaning the edges of thousands of ceramic sherds. Thanks to a generous donation by Nick Ervin, we were able to purchase a Piezon 250 which was immediately put into action on a large Minoan storage jar.
