After a 20 year hiatus, Glynnis Fawkes returned to the INSTAP Study Center to a see old friends and comb the library for new publications on Akrotiri. For 25 years Glynnis has pioneered the use of comics to introduce the artifacts, places, people of the Bronze Age Eastern Mediterranean to the wider public. Her most recent work is a collaboration with Eric Cline, a graphic adaptation of Eric’s study: 1177 B.C. This month she is back on Crete with a fellowship at Mud House artist residency to work on a new graphic novel: Asara of Thera (as well as other projects.) Stay tuned.
